CAMAG Twin Trough Chambers offer several ways to improve the results of TLC/HPTLC developing techniques.
Low Solvent Consumption
20 ml of solvent is sufficient for the development of a 20 x 20 cm
plate, 10ml for a 20 x 10 cm, and 4 ml for a 10 x 10 cm HPTLC plate.
This not only saves solvent, it also reduces the waste disposal problem
as there is almost no solvent left when the run is completed.
Reproducible Pre-equilibration with solvent vapor
For pre-equilibration, the TLC plate is placed in the empty trough
opposite the trough which contains the solvent. Development is started
by filling solvent in the trough with the plate
Gas phase conditioning with any conditioning liquid or volatile reagent
The user dicided the preconditioning time. Development only starts when
solvent is filled in the trough in which the plate stands.
